Spring for a Day

It was 70 degrees today. On January 28, it was 70 degrees. We spent as much time outside as we possibly could. We visited Sand Creek near Bethel and the boys played in the water and on the ice. I forgot my camera and missed some golden photo opportunities. They stomped on the ice (the creek is maybe a foot deep), climbed the banks, and got thoroughly dirty and wet. When we got back to the car, the boys took off their boots and I dumped water out! They went home in their undies. After naps, we headed outside until supper time.
Bikes, playing golf-football-soccer (they pretty much flowed together), bubble blowing, sand box creating all happened in just a couple of hours.
And then....Noah brought out the Nebraska Husker flag. He stood at the end of the driveway waving the flag and yelling, "Go Huskers!" for at least 15 minutes. Except for the one Husker fan that drove by and cheered along with Noah, I have to admit, I was totally embarrassed.

And then, Amy, Emily, Jake and Jenna came over for supper and playing! We try to get together once or so during basketball season (while our husbands are busy officiating games). It definitely made our evening much more enjoyable!
