The Hideout

Friday afternoon the boys got busy. I knew they were making a mess.  But I also knew they working together and creating something so I stayed away and let them work. At first they were trying to use the dog house, kennel and scrap wood to contain the kittens, but since that wasn't working the boys changed course. The kennel and dog house became their hideout.
They packed clothing for a week.  I wasn't pleased about their clean clothes hanging out in this dirty hay, but I was so impressed with what they'd packed for themselves. They each had a sweatshirt (for when it's cool at night), nice clothes for church, plenty of underwear, socks, jeans, shorts and shirts. They had their clothing needs totally covered.
Noah knew that the kennel was kind of dirty inside, so he took the time to wash it out with the garden hose. Then he laid a towel down inside to dry it and make it feel softer. They had water, their hard hats (or bike helmets) and their magnadoodles (I think they were pretend laptops, but I'm not sure).
The boys were sure they'd be in their hideout over night for a week. After we talked it over they realized that they didn't want to sleep out there.  But they wanted everything else to stay just like it was. But when Ben and I explained how dirty the dog house was, how other animals use it at night (since our dog doesn't use either the dog house or the kennel). So they slowly realized that keeping their clothing outside probably wasn't going to work out very well.
In the end, we took all the clothing inside and the kennel remains pretty much the same. It was fascinating to listen to them work and see what they came up with.  I guess now we know they could dress themselves for a week without too much trouble. Too bad they didn't have pillows or food out there....

  1. An interesting discussion is definitely worth comment.
I do think that you should publish more on this issue, it
may not be a taboo subject but generally folks don't speak about these topics. To the next! Cheers!!

a blog article or vice-versa? My site goes over a lot of
the same topics as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other.

If you might be interested feel free to send me an
