November, 2017

November, was a relaxed month for us, no travel and time to spend together as a family.
Our family's favorite Sunday brunch treat is a trip to Doo-Dah's Diner in Wichita.
It is hands-down some of the yummiest food you could ask for.
And I realize this photo may not look that amazing, but their monkey bread is to die for.
Some final garden work happened in November - it was finally time to harvest our peanuts!
Ben kindly did the harvesting this year on a sunny day while I was at work.
My grandma Schmidt's extended family had a get-together at the White Owl Barn, it was a good time of catching up with folks we rarely see anymore.
Noah performed in his first Junior High band and choir concert.
We took the boys to a Bethel basketball game and I snapped this photo as we crossed over Sand Creek from the parking lot to the gym.
Wilbur, the bird dog, hasn't many chances to go out hunting lately. But on a nice Sunday afternoon, Ben and I took him out hunting just to give his instincts a bit of a refresher. Unfortunately, we didn't come across any birds.
He is always up for an adventure if it includes getting in the pick-up!
Noah started playing Junior High basketball. He really enjoys playing basketball and hasn't complained one bit about it. That's Ben in the photo getting ready to toss the opening tip. It was the one and only game that Ben and Noah were on the same court for the year.
Noah plays on both the B & C teams this year.

Levi gets to watch a lot of basketball these days!
At work we had a potluck Thanksgiving meal that was amazing!
Wilbur is a bit like Hank the Cowdog....he thinks he's helpful with the cattle, but he's actually a huge pain. So, one Friday when I was home, he came inside to hang out with me instead of cause Ben headaches outside while the farmers worked cattle.
Fresh, fried onion bits for the top of our homemade green bean casserole.
Thanksgiving evening we headed to Hesston to spend the holiday with the Epp side of my family.
What a full and DELICIOUS plate of food!
November for the farmers was very busy! The soybean harvest finally came to a close and a couple hundred steers came to live at the farm. The unseasonably warm weather led to health issues for the steers. It kept Ben on his toes, sorting, treating, watching, re-treating, sorting, etc. the cattle for several weeks.
