The month of May for our family was half school and half summer since the boys got out of school on May 11.
The Art Fair at school is always a fun event, here is Levi's art portfolio from 3rd grade:

Springtime means LOTS of eggs from the chickens,
and fresh lettuce and spinach from the big pots on our deck, yum!
I went with Levi's class to the Kansas Cosmosphere & Space Center for their field trip - what a cool place to explore!
Levi continues to be fascinated by space and still claims to have hopes of travelling to space one day.
My sweet and beautiful sister turned 40 in May - we had such a good time celebrating her!!
Rain and sunshine mean we can find spots to "swim" near the farm.
Sometimes, I find time and energy to bake - this coffee cake was sooooo good!
I snuck away for a few hours one evening to hang out with friends, enjoying good food and drink and even better conversation.
In a rare moment at church, the boys sang with the other kids - it was great and they're all so cute!
Piano recital time! It is NOT a favorite activity for either of the boys but they did a very good job again.
It's encouraging to see them grow in their ability and confidence.
Ben saw a sign for free kittens and jumped at the opportunity! We brought home 10 cats! But as farm life would have it...a few months later there are only 5 of the new cats remaining.
Time to plant corn!
Noah had a couple friends over after school one day and they were certainly curious about the planter,
and climbing the big bin. Hi boys!
Noah is showing more and more interest in golfing, he often asks if he and Ben can go play.
Levi is interested, but we'll see how long his curiosity lasts.
In Goessel, the elementary school is kindergarten through 5th grade. So at the end of 5th grade there's a 5th grade promotion. It's held in conjunction with the elementary school awards and this was our first time attending the event.
Noah's class had been busy preparing for the promotion, getting band and choir songs ready, etc. and it was a great mix of showing off what the class can do, celebrating their good work in elementary school and saying farewell as they head off to the Jr/Sr high building next year.
The PTO even provided cake and punch for the party!
End of school means it's time for some funfetti to celebrate!
The strawberries started ripening just after school got out and we did our best to enjoy them!
When Ben an I got on walks, he often ventures off into the fields to check out what's going on.
Thankfully, Wilbur was really sweet with all the new kittens we brought home.

Ben rigged up some string so the clematis on the front of our house could climb higher this year and what a glorious sight it was!
May starts baseball season for the boys....sometimes they have patience to play catch with each other (sadly, it often doesn't last very long...).
And, you can tell by the pants and long-sleeved shirts that it was chilly out, so we thought it was time for a fire
and s'mores.
Noah put a ton of creative energy into creating a golf course around the farm and hosting the Emma Creek Golf Classic.
Each hole had a sign, he mowed the tee box and putting green, he was dressed up, and the "golf carts" had signs too!
Playing golf on a farm certainly has it's challenges!
Turns out, Levi won the tournament!
So many kittens!!
I made chicken shawarma and dog-gone-it was it good. Life gets so busy in May and June that we rarely have well put together meals, so when one comes together like this one did it's such a treat.
