Date Night with Noah

Friday evening, Noah and I went on a date. He was thrilled at the chance to be a part of date night (instead of staying home with a babysitter). He got himself dressed and was anxious to go when the it was finally time for us to go.

Our date was dinner and a play. The Goessel High School drama department put on "Peter Pan" and hosted a lasagna dinner (to raise funds for the drama department) before each performance. It was wonderful to share some special time with Noah.

My cousin Braden was Peter Pan and did a fabulous job! Here he is with Wendy.

I had forgotten a lot of the details of the story. It was fun to re-learn it and watch Noah experience it for the first time. I'm not sure if he understood there was a boy inside the dog costume and the alligator outfit.

Peter's last jump through the window! It was a wonderful production and all the better because it was a special night with Noah.

The last harvest pictures for the year. It was the day before Halloween and it was beautiful outside. Dad taught Ben how to drive the combine. It was a good day.

Bumble Bees in the Hay

The boys love the videos on YouTube made by Derek Klingenberg. Bumble Bees in the Hay is their favorite. Yesterday, Ben made the boys a "laptop computer" with a piece of cardboard. I found Levi "watching" the video last night and actually caught some of his singing on video.

Halloween 2010

During Preschool on Thursday, Noah's class walked through Goessel in their costumes to Bethesda. A couple times a year, the preschool kids go to Bethesda to interact with the residents and for the first time I met up with them! It was fun and Noah was terribly excited to have me there. Space was a bit tight inside the nursing home, so the one good shot I got of fireman Noah was outside on their walk back to the preschool.

The costumes at our house suddenly switched right before it was time to go out trick-or-treating on our street. Noah was going to be a fireman (like he had been on Thursday and Saturday) and Levi was going to be a dalmatian. I never got a photo of Levi dressed as a dalmatian - it was incredibly cute. But, tonight Noah turned into a farmer and Levi quickly grabbed the fireman jacket.

Package in the Mail

It is rare, RARE I tell you, that I get a package in the mail and today I got one! Ben's mom sent me a package! I was racking my brain trying to think what could be inside and since she sealed the envelope so well I had some time to think. When I finally got out a scissors and opened up the darn thing, I found 2 wonderful surprises inside!

She crocheted 2 Reversible Swiffer Socks from some of her leftover yarn. Resourceful AND reusable. If you click on the picture above you can read the description...but, one side is loopy to help grab dust and the other is smooth - let me tell you, it works! Please don't judge how horridly dirty my floors must have been...

Holy bananas, that's a lot of dirt, hair, grass and whatever else! So, then, I took the big dust bunnies off and flipped it over to use the second side which is smooth for wet mopping.

I've always used a Windex/water mix in a spray bottle to clean my hardwood floors. I spray it on, then go over it with a Swiffer and call it good. So, I did that with this handy reusable swiffer sock and it was even better then with a regular Swiffer cloth. In fact, this was more effective then I have ever experienced the traditional Swiffer to be.
