January, 2018

We celebrated the new year by enjoying semmel!
January was chalk full of basketball games for our family. Noah played on Mondays and Thursdays, with practice after school everyday. Levi played on Saturdays with practice on Tuesday and Sunday evenings.

Levi's late December birthday was celebrated in school after Christmas break. I joined him for lunch and then hung out with him until he shared his birthday treats. His class decided to eat lunch in their classroom that day and I had a ton of fun eating and laughing with his buddies.
 Time to  clean out desks!
And finally, it was time to share lemon bars!

The Epp family gathered for a late Christmas celebration, which also served as Levi's family birthday celebration. He was pumped to get a cozy robe and big body pillow.
Noah was awarded the traditional bag of peanut M&M's by Doug, for winning the family Fantasy Football league. His acceptance speech should have been recorded, it was amazing!
Cold, dark, January Sunday nights are made for snack supper: popcorn, quesadillas, pickles, apple slices and cheese.
Noah got his first chance at a last minute shot to win a close game for his team. Too bad it didn't go in....turns out those shots are a lot tougher in a game then when you're playing in your driveway.
We went through a spell of all of us having a cold/fighting off a cold/just being worn out.
This is how we looked one night...pretty miserable! But thankfully, none of that lasted long!
When Ben is busy working cattle, Wilbur gets to come inside and hang out with me. :-)
For like one day, maybe two, it actually looked like winter outside in January.

This was the only attempt at sledding that happened this winter. There wasn't enough snow.
But the boys had fun trying. Too bad it was so terribly cold! We couldn't be out very long before our faces felt frozen.
I took a work trip to this gigantic house in Colorado.
It was fantastic to feel the cool, crisp air of the mountains and soak up the warm sunshine. All but two of our staff stayed here for a couple days for our planning meetings. We worked, we played games, cooked and laughed together.
Ben, as always, was very busy in January reffing basketball.

And on the last day of the month, a month that seemed to have 156 days in it, we got to enjoy this lovely sunset.
On to February!
