Threshing Days weekend

The Threshing Days parade didn't disappoint.  It was pretty much like the parade last year, and the year before and the year before. :-)
My three guys were in the parade again this year, so Rylee, Erica, Miki and I took in the festivities without them.

The good thing about the parade is that since the route is short, the boys can ride through the parade and get back to me before it's over!
The loot - three plastic footballs, a flag and a ton of candy.
We walked over to the museum grounds before we ate lunch. It was plenty warm, but not too bad.  This sign cracked me up - especially since there weren't actually any men around.
The boys could have watched this model train go around for about an hour if only their mother was that patient.
We ate lunch and when we came back outside, the sun was hidden behind clouds and the wind was blowing from the north! Suddenly, it felt great to be outside!

The boys participated in their first pedal pull competition.
Each kid got a little bottle of juice after their turn.
Both boys did great, but neither one won their age groups.
Then we hung out by the threshing machines and watched the demonstrations.

And, after over an hour of playing in the hay and wheat we went inside the museum for a little bit. Right near the entrance is a model of our church from way back in the day. The boys love to look at it.

From the museum we went to the park to take in the sand volleyball tournament. The boys were so busy playing with friends and I was busy visiting with friends that we stayed until after 8!  It was a long day, but the cool north wind and all the activity made the day fly by.
