The handful of giant sunflowers growing in our yard have proven to be some of the few bright spots in our yard this year.

The extreme heat has held the plants in our yard in survival mode. There have been very few blooms and when plants do flower the flowers don't last long.

Since I snapped these photos the taller two sunflowers have opened, but they're already almost loosing their petals. Oh well, at least the flowers were stunning for a couple days.
Your yard looks so nice and green! By the way - how brave to go to a rodeo!! It really did look like fun - especially the chicken run!
