Random Sunday Photos

Sunday afternoon and evening were spent at the farm with my parents, sister and niece.
We kept busy outside working in the trees
playing with tractors
and the main event, which isn't pictured, was playing football.

Tractor + wagon + two boys (thankfully) = amazing teamwork

Singing Cowboy

This guys just melts my heart.
Lucky for me, he sang me a few songs on Friday morning.
It's great to watch him explore music, who knows if his interest will last.  But I'll certainly take a personal concert any day - especially from this shy cowboy.

Football Boys

Saturday evening, our Sunday School class had a get-together and these boys played football.  I walked over to watch the game for a while and was surprised to see Noah at quarterback.  He can through an amazing spiral with a kid-sized football, but these "big" boys wanted to play with a "real" football.  I assumed that meant Noah would need to be a receiver or lineman, but I guess they gave the young kid a shot at QB.
There's the snap...
he's looking for an open receiver....
 spotted one...
and the ball falls incomplete.  Shucks.
 Next snap...

this one looks more promising, but I don't recall if it was caught or not.
Time for a huddle, and time to share the QB spotlight...
apparently, Noah opted to be the ref.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of him waving his arms to stop the clock and "whistling" at the players.  It was legit.
These boys had some serious speed and intensity
but they seemed to keep it in check.  There weren't any tears and there were lots of smiles.

The P Patch

Saturday morning we made our annual visit to Papa's Pumpkin Patch.
Levi was pumped to show off his new boots
Lucky for us, the weather was perfect!

The boys took turns seeing who could pump water the fastest

 and then we played tic-tac-toe,
shucked corn, played in corn and used the new auger system (no photos to prove it)!

And then, we made it out to the pumpkin patch!  We managed to keep the boys from cutting any pumpkins until we were sure it was one we wanted.  It was fun to make the decision together.

Three pumpkins later, we made our way out of the patch.

I could not get a decent smile out of Noah, but we did run into our friend Britton just before we left.
See ya next year P Patch!

Buckin' Bull

For what seems like months, every night the boys have begged Ben to play Buckin' Bull with them.
At some point, after the rodeo we went to this summer, the boys came up with this idea and Ben went along with it.  I have never been a fan and had never actually watched the activity until the evening I snapped these photos.  Please prepare your eyes for blurry photos - clearly, I have a thing or two to learn about taking action shots in low light.  But, I couldn't miss the chance to document this nightly event because already it's popularity is waning.  Ben and I are both perfectly happy with that.
Levi holds on for dear life
 counting the whole time
trying to stay on for 8 seconds

 Noah's turn!
It takes some serious strength to hold on while Ben bucks like a bull
Getting ready for another ride (they check themselves out in the bathroom mirror...).
 Ready for another ride

thankfully, this bull smiles at the end of an 8 second ride.
