Intensity

Safety first...

Well, that's not how it always goes around here. But, we did finally manage to get the boys bike helmets.

Now if we can just remember to have the boys use them!

Trimming

If the toys our boys take care of our lawn with actually worked, we'd have the most manicured lawn in town. Just about every day part of our lawn gets mowed and part of it gets trimmed (that's what we call the weed-eater).

Look out for Schrag Mowing Services within the next 10 years to be asking to mow your yard.

Weekend tidbits

Two things made for a busy weekend - the Kansas MCC Sale and Levi got sick. Can you guess which one was fun and which one was not?

Noah had been asking about the MCC Sale since we went to it last year. He doesn't realize that I work at MCC because I usually just say I'm going to work. Every once in a while, I say MCC instead of "work" and each time he asks with lots of anticipation, "Are we going to the MCC Sale?!" So, finally it was time for the sale! The boys loved riding in the barrels pulled by the lawnmower.
But then Levi got sick on Friday night. He was still sick on Monday morning (which is when I took this photo) but by the end of the day on Monday he was pretty much his usual self.

Now I'm sick...

Videos from March & January

I haven't taken any pictures lately, but I found these videos on our other camera (the only one that has a video function).

I was trying to get Levi to sing "The B-I-B-L-E" and Noah chimed in to help.

The second video was taken during the same bath time. For the longest time this winter, Levi would sing, "The B-I-B-L-E, bubble!" This isn't the best example, but you'll get the idea. I don't know why he started to sing the song this way, but he would do it over and over and over again.

This video is from January, in the thick of basketball season. Thankfully, the whistles have been put away.

Easter 2010

Our Epp Easter gathering was at Megan and Chelan's farm this year. We could not have asked for better weather and the kids loved being able to spend the entire evening outside.

The kids got to sit on the deck to eat. It was really nice to have just adults (and Rylee) around the dinner table - granted Levi and Noah made multiple appearances inside.

The Easter basket/egg hunt was a hit. Levi found his basket behind a wheelbarrow and promptly dumped it all out.

Noah spotted his basket in a tree, but Ben held on to him pretending like he hadn't seen it. Noah got really excited - yelling and reaching for his basket.

Addi's pointing it out and finally Noah jumped out of Ben's arms to go and retrieve his basket.

Victory at last!

Noah and grandma searching for eggs.

Noah enjoyed lots of space to run and play.

A Rylee Classic - sucking thumb and twirling hair...I love it!

The group of kiddos!

I don't think the dog was enjoying this as much as the kids were...

Happy Easter!

Rylee!

Rylee came over on Friday morning and it was such a treat to take care of her. She's the easiest one-year old I've ever known. She barely made a sound, even through eating breakfast and getting dressed. That may sound simple, but while I was supposed to be paying attention to her at breakfast I was helping Noah and Levi get set-up with paper and markers and crayons and scissors and more. So, to say the least, Rylee had to wait longer then she should have in between bites. She didn't complain, she just kicked her feet more. And, when it came to getting her dressed we had some issues with her shirt. The neck opening was very, very tight so I had to work and pull really hard to get it on her head. Her hair totally threw me off. I usually don't have to work to avoid pulling hair when I help my boys get dressed. But, even with her shirt being YANKED down on her head, Rylee didn't make a peep.

I took all the photos before I found her hair clips...but her hair is beautiful and so soft.

It was wonderful to watch her interact with the boys.

I love this photo. She is the sweetest little girl I know - I might be biased....maybe just a little.

Basketball

It seems that just as college basketball is coming to an end, Noah has decided to embrace the sport by playing it morning, noon and night.

This picture make me laugh. I hope I can find it when Noah takes senior pictures in 13 years.

Noah likes to be a ref and basketball player at the same time. Here he's showing me how to call a foul...

and this is the other way you can call a foul.

The tricky part of this new obsession is that we don't have a "real" basketball goal outside. I end up being a human basketball goal which isn't much fun. Thankfully though, just almost all the other houses on our street do! So, thanks to Noah we're getting to know our neighbors - or at least their kids.

Bib Overalls

When there's a package in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Schrag the boys are always VERY eager to open it. Recently, we got a package that contained - among other things - bib overalls! The boys LOVE them. As in, they wore them the very day we opened the box and the next day. They would have worn them the 3rd day too, but I wouldn't let them. They're perfect for playing outside and getting dirty. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Schrag!

Total cheese balls - dancing for the camera.
